希盟政府听取砂拉越、沙巴民意，同意在今天（9日）的联邦宪法1（2）条款修改法案的二读前作修正，以用回1963年版本的措辞，完全还原当时1963年联邦宪法的用词。
首相署部长拿督刘伟强也证实，修正后的修宪措辞，将会是与1963年联邦宪法版本所使用的相同字眼。
相比起GPS所一路跟随奉承的国阵巫统，希盟更愿意聆听人民的心声，更愿意照顾砂拉越，还原MA63是砂拉越人民的意愿，砂盟政府已经没有拒绝修宪的理由。
按照原版1963年联邦宪法1（2）条款：
1）“联邦”马来语或英语，应称为“马来西亚”。
2）联邦包括：
（a）马来亚 ：柔佛、吉打、吉兰丹、马六甲、森美兰、彭亨、槟城、霹雳、玻璃市、雪兰莪、登嘉楼；以及
（b）婆罗洲 ：砂拉越及沙巴。

1963 version of Article 1(2) of the Federal Constitution:
(1) The Federation shall be known, in Malay and English, by the name Malaysia.
(2) The States of the Federation shall be –
(a) the States of Malaya, namely Johore, Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Selangor, and Terengganu; and
(b) the Borneo States, namely Sabah and Sarawak.
